Maciek has been playing guitar for over 14 years and his influences come mainly from Jazz and Latin music. Originally born in Poland in 1982, he currently resides in London where he moved in 2003. Since his early years he showed huge interest in Music and started playing guitar at the age of 11. He had two teachers in his early days but is overall a self-taught musician. He has been a lead guitarist in local bands since the age of 13 and attended his first recording session at the age of 14.
As a teenager he used to listen to all kinds of music but later on, in his late teens, he was exposed to Jazz and Latin Music and both genres have influenced him greatly.
Throughout his career in London he has been a member of many bands playing different styles of music including Aesthetic Sounds House Band, a soul outfit called The Indie Soul Movement with whom he was signed to a small record company, had a world-wide distribution deal with Turmic Records and appeared twice in the music magazine NME.
He recorded with a singer from Germany called Bianca Bohl, worked as a session musician with an R'n'B studio in North London, participated in a number of projects ranging from Jazz, Rock to Funk. He has taken part in numerous jam sessions and have played well over few hundred live shows and on many recording sessions.
He has had a chance to meet fantastic musicians and some of the world's greatest players. His current projects include Lyveden Project, which is a jazz quintet playing a mix of originals and standards. Maciek is also working with singers Sylvia Powell and Sabrina Rabello.
Maciek is also leading his own group which can be heard in various formation including solo shows, duos with percussionists and trios with percussion and bass.
Maciek has performed in a number of well know venues: Notting Hill Arts Club, Hope and Anchor in Islington, Sound on Leicester Square, Spice of Life, Purple Turtle, Sotto Casa Di Andrea in Rome, The Halfmoon in Putney, Jazz After Dark in Soho, The Troubadour in Earl's Court, The Cuban Bar in Camden, Boston Music Rooms, Cafe 1001!, The Playroom, My Place Hotel, Blag Bar, Finnegans Wake to name a few! Maciek is currently available/being booked for shows in solo, duo, trio, quartet and quintet format in and outside London.
